Police officers to hold free bike marking event on March Market Place to deter thieves

Protect your bike through a free event being put on by the police.

Officers will be on March Market Place on Saturday, between 9.30am and 11am, offering free bike marking.

A tamper-proof sticker will be put on the bike, acting as a visual deterrent to thieves.

If the bike is stolen and then recovered by officers, the chances of it being reunited with its owner are higher as it will be registered to the national cycle database.

A spokesperson for Policing Fenland said: “All you have to do is meet our officers in the Market Place with your bike. It is a completely free event, only costing you a few minutes of your time.

More information on bike marking can be found on the Bike Register website.
