Police release Fenland and county shoplifting figures

Police have released statistics as part of Safer Business Action Week showing that officers have arrested more than 200 people for stealing from shops across Cambridgeshire this year so far.
Business-related crime has been a priority for some of the county’s neighbourhood policing teams in recent months, seeing 205 people arrested for shoplifting.
Many of them have been charged with a multitude of offences in addition to shoplifting, including possession of drugs, robbery, assault, possession of weapons, threatening behaviour, breach of court orders, business burglary and more.
In Fenland there have been seven arrests, 32 charges, four weeks in prison and £276.20 compensation ordered
