Long Sutton and Sutton Bridge see spike in anti-social behaviour - with police saying incidents having risen during school holiday
Police say that anti-social behaviour incidents have ‘dramatically increased’ in Long Sutton and Sutton Bridge with children off school for the Easter holidays.
Officers revealed details of a number of incidents reported to them over the break – a spike they put down to the holidays.
Officers had calls from Sutton Bridge stating youths in the woods behind Memorial Park were throwing items at nearby properties.
Sutton Bridge Golf Club also reported three youths causing damage to the fairway and greens. They are said to have broken rakes and taken Tee blockers.
And in Long Sutton, youths were said to have been smashing bottles on the pathways and knocking on doors late at night on Saddlers Way.
A South Holland Police spokesman said: “We have names for some of those suspected to be involved and will be making contact to discuss these incidents with them.”
They added: “All around the above locations, there are properties with CCTV and video doorbells.
“We will be looking at footage to identify those responsible for this behaviour. We will be visiting all those identified and dealing with them robustly.
“If you have youngsters who are out and about with their friends – late into the evening –do you know where they are and what they are doing? I suspect that many of you don’t.
“Please talk to your youngsters. Usually, one or two in a group do these things, and the others follow due to peer pressure. Let them know that anti-social behaviour is not ok and that their actions should not have a negative impact on others.”
