Police are urging people not to let alcohol call the shots this Christmas in a bid to tackle alcohol-related violent crime.

The campaign to raise awareness of the dangers of these crimes will be running across the area until this Sunday.

As the holiday season approaches it is likely people will be getting into the festive spirit with a drink down the local pub, an office Christmas party or a night out with friends .

Police are warning people about the consequences of getting involved in a drunken brawl.

PC Grahame Robinson, said: “A drunken brawl can have serious consequences and could change your life forever.”
