Policer officer arrested and suspended over allegations involving indecent images of children

A March police officer has been suspended after they were arrested on suspicion of making/distributing/possessing indecent images of children.

The unnamed officer was arrested last Thursday (May 16) when the case was referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct, which investigates the most serious and sensitive incidents and allegations involving the police.

A police spokesman said: "The case was referred to the IOPC as a matter of course and has been passed back for local investigation. The officer has been suspended and released on bail.”
