Public demand leads to expansion plan for Fenland business
Public demand has led to a planning application by a local business.
Owners of the Robin Hood service station in Wimblington Road, March are asking Fenland District Council for permission to build a side extension to the garage shop.
A design and access statement drawn up in support of the application by Morton and Hall Consulting Ltd explains the proposal will see a single-storey extension built to the rear of the site.
It adds that access to Church Street will be closed off.
The statement explains that an increased demand from the public means there is a need to expand the shop together with additional storage space.
The new extension will be no higher than the existing building and will be constructed with materials that also match the current shop.
It goes on to say the proposal will allow additional people to be employed and allow the existing business, which has been established on the site for well over 30 years, to expand.
