In a post on the pub's Facebook page: "So as some of you may have already heard, it is with regret that as of today, The Granary has closed its doors!

"We’d like to take this opportunity to thank all of our amazing staff who have helped and supported us throughout our time here!

"Also many thanks to our loyal customers. It has been an absolute pleasure getting to know each and everyone of you. Sheena and Donald"

The couple had taken over The Granary from Dana Potass, who had left the pub in spring last year.

The Granary had undergone a renonovation in recent years to become a live music venue and last week had been advertising a gig by 5Ska.

Customers had expressed their disappointment on social media.
