Dog walkers urged to take care after rat poison found sprinkled around park in Wisbech

Dog walkers are being urged to be careful when they are taking their pets out in Wisbech.

Reports have been made by a member of the public to Paddons Veterinary Surgeons in Wisbech of rat poison sprinkled around a ‘doggy park’ at the bottom of Alexandra Road.

A post by the surgeons on Facebook said: “We have just received reports from a member of the public to say that there has been a lot of pink rat poison sprinkled around the 'doggy park'.

“The good citizen who noticed this picked up four bags’ worth of poison himself and reported it.

“Unfortunately, it is impossible to collect every pellet, so we are expecting that there will still be some there.”

Cambridgeshire Police have been contacted for any further information.
