Crystal tree would be contamination of Wisbech town centre architecture

Crystal crazy councillor’s Christmas contamination – a glass tree banished by the people of Peterborough.

Hopefully it is a fly-off-at-a-tangent singular decision by a Wisbech Town Councillor, with the support of only one fellow lone flyer councillor, to scavenge the expensive liability from Peterborough City Council.

Time will tell if “fellow” councillors express their personal views and hopefully implement overrule.

Very doubtful that any Wisbech Heritage, Wisbech Society and Preservation Trust Groups have been consulted about such an outrageous proposed contamination of Wisbech town centre architecture.

Have the views of residents of Wisbech and district been considered? No.

To suggest putting it “at the other end of the Market Square” is a serious insult to the Globe Inn, who produce the best and most colourful display in the Market Place.

Perfect target for our dear little delinquents who appear to get away with vandalising. Has the costly insurance indemnity for injury from scattered glass been considered? Don’t take delivery, it will only cause heartache and expense and derision from district residents.

Andy Norman,

Wisbech St Mary.
