Relief as German Shepherd is finally rescued in Wisbech
Rescuers have managed to catch a stray dog that had been causing concern from people for nearly a week.
The German Shepherd had been spotted running in an out of traffic on North Brink in Wisbech, multiple times, and had also been sighted sitting on the river bank.
Many attempts were made by members of the public to catch her and take her to safety, but she evaded all attempts.
However, she was eventually caught yesterday afternoon thanks to Fenland District Council’s dog warden and Street Scene teams.
A council spokesperson said: "Fenland District Council’s stray dog collection and Street Scene teams are hugely grateful to everyone who has been concerned for the animal’s welfare – and especially to the team at Tejaycey Dog Hotel who were able to safely contain her on their land this morning.
“She has now been taken to be checked over by a vet and will be handed to a rescue centre if owners cannot be traced.
