Remembrance 2022: Wisbech remembers the Fallen with parade and service
The people of Wisbech turned out in force this morning for the annual Remembrance Day parade and act of remembrance.
The Wisbech ceremonies were just one of a number held across Fenland today.
Representatives of the Armed Forces and cadet groups led a parade, which also included the civic party made up of the mayor Susan Wallwork and other local councillors and dignitaries including Deputy Lieutenant of Cambridgeshire Mark Knight. It mustered in the Market Place and marched to the War Memorial.
Thousands of people then watched the service of remembrance at the War Memorial where a two minutes’ silence was observed at 11am, which was then followed by the laying of wreaths by representatives of dozens of local groups and organisations including the Royal British Legion.
After the wreath laying the parade reformed and marched to St Peter's Church for the annual service of remembrance.
