Police urge people not to give burglars opportunity by leaving windows open when not home

Police are urging people not to leave their property windows open when their home is left unattended.

An officer conducting house-to-house enquiries yesterday, saw several properties in Fenland where windows were open – but nobody was at home.

A spokesperson for the police said burglars are opportunists, and this provides them with an easy way of getting into your property.

They said: “The warmer weather is glorious, but please remember to shut windows if you go out. This is a simple way of protecting your home.”
