Roy Brown, chief executive and founder member of CP Learning Trust, has retired after 15 years in post.

Learners past and present gathered recently at the Queen Mary Centre, Wisbech, for the CP Learning Trust AGM express their thanks for his dedication to lifelong learning.

Roy bade farewell surrounded by well wishers from commerce, industry and education. Many past learners chose to attend and presented him with a scrapbook showing how his efforts had enriched their lives and enabled them to progress to further education, training or into employment.

CP Learning Trust specialises in providing meaningful, first step learning opportunities to those groups least likely to have benefited from education.

Roy said that he was leaving the organisation in good shape, well able to develop further under the incoming CEO, Gaynor Cooper.

In future Roy will be working in an advisory capacity to help shape adult learning provision throughout Peterborough and Cambridgeshire, but will also be spending time with family and friends and, as a lifelong Harley Davidson enthusiast, riding his beloved motorbike.
