Reward of up to £20,000 on offer for information regarding whereabouts of body of Christchurch woman Julie Buckley

A reward of up to £20,000 is now on offer to anybody who can help police with information about the whereabouts of the body of a Christchurch woman presumed to have been murdered.

Julie Buckley was first reported as missing in late January, and Cambridgeshire Police’s investigations led to the conclusion that she had been murdered - despite not finding a body.

Crimestoppers is reaching out to the community to assist in bringing Julie home to her family.

The charity is offering a reward of up to £20,000 for information about those involved in Julie’s murder and the subsequent concealment and/or whereabouts of her body.

This reward will be payable to anyone giving information directly to Crimestoppers which leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for Julie’s murder.

While Karl Hutchings, 47, of The Hill in Christchurch, has been charged with Julie’s murder, and others are on bail, critical information regarding the whereabouts of her remains unknown.

Her family is in “desperate need” of answers, yearning for the closure that comes with being able to lay their beloved daughter, sister, and friend to rest.

Detective Inspector Richard Stott said: “This is an incredibly difficult time for Julie’s family and loved ones.

“We believe that someone, somewhere, has information that could significantly aid our efforts to find her. If you know anything about Julie's disappearance or the circumstances surrounding it, we urge you to come forward.”

Annabelle Goodenough, South East regional manager at Crimestoppers, added: “Any piece of information you share could make a difference and could help bring Julie’s family the peace and closure they deserve.

“If you know something about Julie’s whereabouts, or about those who may have been involved in her murder, you can contact Crimestoppers and stay 100% anonymous. Always.”

Crimestoppers operates independently of the police and ensures confidentiality for all information shared.

The reward is specifically available for information leading to the successful conviction of individuals involved in Julie’s murder or the concealment of her body.
