Riding high at Wisbech Statute Fair
Members of Wisbech Town Council were riding high during the grand opening of the Statue Fair last week.
Deputy Mayor Aigars Balsevics, pictured above, had the honour of officially opening the fair, which was in the Chapel Road car park until Sunday.
Councillors processed from their offices to the Chapel Road car park in their regalia on Wednesday evening ahead of the civic opening.
Representatives from the Showman's Guild escorted councillors around a number of rides.
The councillors enjoyed their traditional ride on the dodgems before moving onto other rides.
The rides were open to the public until Sunday.
Town Clerk Terry Jordan was hopeful the fair was well supported.
He said: "The numbers of people present on the opening night were the highest we have seen for a number of years."
