Fenland Business Awards: RKA Kickboxing Academy named Readers’ Choice

There can be no greater accolade than being nominated for an award by your customers and clients which is why Stuart Harris of RKA Kickboxing was completely overwhelmed to win the Readers’ Choice Award.

As with all the categories this was a hard fought award with all three of the finalists: Sizzler Barbecue Caterers, The Secret Garden Touring Park and RKA Kickboxing, deserving to be rightly proud to be in the running for the trophy.

However, there can, as always, only be one winner and Stuart Harris proved to be the one.

He started his business at the trickiest of times just as the pandemic was starting.

However, he and daughter Paige proved resilient and immediately adjusted their plans taking lessons on line.

Since then they have reached capacity and are now in the process of expanding their business with a planning application in so they can take over the adjoining unit at their headquarters in March.

Stuart’s long experience in the kickboxing world has seen him train numerous champions bringing home countless national and international titles to March in the past three years.

He is working with Cambridgeshire Police on a project called Glove Up which aims to tackle anti-social behaviour among the area’s young people and he is going into schools to run sessions aimed at specific groups.

He was nominated in great numbers proving just what RKA Kickboxing means to all his clients making him a worthy winner.

Stuart said: “It’s absolutely brilliant - what a result. I am blown away by just how many people actually voted for us and it is incredible to receive such recognition.

“We have worked very hard and we continue to do so to help give something to the community and we are now in the process of launching a new programme with the help of Living Sport for the over 50s - the sessions will be free and are aimed at helping people get fit and keep active.”
