Wisbech road floods after downpour
After one of the most dry summers on record, Wisbech was hit by heavy rain this afternoon.
One of the worst affected areas was Weston Miller Drive, where parts of the road were flooded.
More heavy rain is predicted throughout tonight and the Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning of thunderstorms for the next few hours. It is also expected to rain for much of tomorrow.
They say flooding of homes and businesses could happen quickly, with damage to some buildings from flood water, lightning strikes, hail or strong winds.
Fast flowing or deep floodwater is possible, and there is a chance of delays and some cancellations to train and bus services.
Spray and sudden flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures, some communities might become cut off if roads flood and power cuts might occur and other services to some homes and businesses could be lost.
