Roald Dahl day in Parson Drove
A classroom was filled with enormous crocodiles, fantastic Mr Foxes, Charlies (from the chocolate factory), Big Friendly Giants and a host of other colourful Roald Dahl characters during a day to inspire children to write.
Classes at the Alderman Payne Primary School in Parson Drove have been named after authors this year, and last week the Roald Dahl class celebrated the writer’s September birthday by dressing up as their favourite Roald Dahl character. The class, made up of children from Years One and Two, enjoyed writing all about their characters and tucked into some birthday cake baked by one of the parents. Class teacher Wendy Edwards said: “The day went really well, and we saw some really good writing.”
