RSPCA Block Fen’s delight as they say farewell to Thor after two years

A neglected dog who spent a long two years waiting for a new home has finally found love.

Thor was part of a neglect, which meant staff at the RSPCA’s Block Fen Rescue Centre, had to wait until the case had been resolved before trying to find him new owners.

So with the case finally over it was time for Thor to finally say good by to his carers and head off into a new home.

A spokesperson for Blaock Fen said: “Once the case was resolved, it didn't take him long to get snatched up by his new mum and dad.”

And this week he finally said goodbye to animal care assistant Heidi who has been his rock during his stay at the centre in Wimblington.

The spokesperson added: “Happy endings like these make everything we do worth while! Good luck Thor, it's happy days ahead for you.”

Meanwhile Ruby has been waiting for 661 days to find her new home with staff fearing the fact she has to wear a muzzle while out in public places putting off potential new owners.

A video showing just how fun and loving she is has had over 700 viewings on the centre’s website page but so far no one has come forward to offer her a home.

The video has staff at Block Fen saying what they love about Ruby, from her wide mouthed smiley face, to her love of walks, cleanliness in her kennel and her love of cuddles.

Addressing the issue of her wearing a muzzle in public places the video explains it is to keep her safe while out and about, and that she is not bothered by it and the staff member urges anyone thinking of adopting her not to be bothered by it either.
