Rural roads warning after crash involving parked car in Tydd St Mary




Police have put out a warning to motorists driving on Fenland’s rural roads after two cars were badly damaged in an accident.

The incident occurred on Thursday night on the Cambridgeshire and Lincolnshire border in Tydd St Mary, alongside the River Nene.

A white Mercedes hit a parked vehicle that had been left partly in the road, with no lights on.

The Mercedes left the road and stopped just short of plunging into the river, the driver luckily unscathed.

Both vehicles were recovered from the scene.

A spokesman for Fenland Police said: “Please drive to arrive when using our rural roads as they are dark, bumpy and have many dangers.”
