Scaffolding at Sutton Bridge hotel posed a challenge for driver transporting abnormal load
Scaffolding at a derelict hotel posed an additional challenge for the driver transporting an abnormal load over the weekend.
Lincolnshire Police worked with specialist haulage company Allelys in transporting a generator from Port Sutton Bridge through to Wisbech on Sunday morning.
However, it took a little time for the load to make it up to the A17 at Sutton Bridge due to scaffolding which has been erected outside the Bridge Hotel.
Work is finally taking place at the derelict hotel which has been an eyesore for many years. Rob Bridgewater and Jamie Sandford of API Investments are converting the site into 15 flats.
A police spokesman said “The load touched some scaffolding on West Bank, Sutton Bridge, and it took some time to manoeuvre around the scaffolding, but it was never stuck.
“The scaffolding had gone up recently and added a new dimension to the move that was not anticipated.”
