Scarily good fun for Wisbech care home residents for Halloween
Residents at a Wisbech care home enjoyed a fiendishly fun afternoon celebrating Halloween.
The Orchards invited friends and families for the party, which saw the home decorated with scary creations made especially by the residents.
Children from the Little Owl’s Nursery, who visit weekly, went along too.
They all interacted with the entertainer, singing, clapping, and dancing and the party goers had inflatable instruments to 'play' and balloons and bubbles enjoyed by all.
There was also had a best costume trophy and Irena, one of the care assistants, won it dressed as a pumpkin. She said “it made her feel emotional and was very grateful to everyone".
Catering staff put out a buffet full of ghoulish treats and everyone was brave enough to eat them.
There were also 'handfuls' of sweets for the little trick or treaters that came along- sweets in gloves - and the children all were surprised to be given sweets in the shape of a hand.
A spokesperson for the home said: “It was lovely to see everyone enjoying the entertainment and I am proud of the staff and visitors who all dressed up for this occasion. The kitchen staff have done us proud again by creating amazing, themed food.”
"I would like to say it has been so much fun supporting the residents with the creativity of making the Halloween decorations. But it was so enjoyable watching everyone posing for their photographs with them at the party. Having the families and children join us created an amazing atmosphere and was worth dressing up for."
