The ‘beach’ will be put back into Wisbech during an exciting event in the town on Sunday.

People won’t have to travel to the coast to get a taste of the seaside when a sandy beach is set up in the Market Place, complete with donkey rides, face painting, fairground rides and traditional Punch and Judy shows.

Wisbech Town Council will be offering buckets (and spades) full of fun when it hosts its first WisBEACH day from 11am to 3.30pm.

There will also be performances from March Brass 2000, karaoke, seaside refreshments and a beach bar.

In addition, The Great British Seaside Special – a summer variety show for all the family – is being held at the Tower Ballroom in Hill Street, Wisbech, at 2.30pm.

Show tickets, costing £10, are available from Etcetera.

As well as the seaside experience in the town centre, the County Council’s Library Service is holding a Family Morning at Wisbech Library from 10am until noon. Activities include crafts, dancing and story-telling.
