A senior member of South Holland District Council has stepped down from the cabinet.

The news was first announced at a recent full council meeting, where Conservative leader Nick Worth described the "baptism of fire" Tyrrell had to endure in his role.

"It's not been an easy time, thank you Jack," he said.

A spokesman for South Holland District Council - which covers the Suttons and Tydd areas - stated: "Following discussions with the leader of the council, Coun Jack Tyrrell has taken the decision to step down from his portfolio.

"This decision was reached through mutual agreement, and we thank Coun Tyrrell for his contributions during his time in the role."
