Morrisons service station in Wisbech could get extension if plans are approved
A new electric vehicle charging zone, jet wash facilities and a bin store could come to a service station if plans are given the green light.
Motor Fuel Group has submitted a planning application on behalf of Morrisons Service Station in Wisbech for its current jet wash to be removed and to add an extension to its existing building to create more facilities.
If approved, the existing car wash and jet wash will be removed and replaced with a single-storey extension to the existing petrol filling stations sales building, as well as raising the height of the PFS canopy.
It will also bring an electric vehicle charging zone, jet wash facilities, substation, LV panel, bin store, and associated works.
The proposal will see the installation of three jet wash bays and four EV charging bays.
An Environmental Noise Survey and Noise Impact Assessment Report by Quantum Acoustics states that a survey was carried out over the space of three days in November to identify any noise impact it could potentially have on the surrounding properties.
The statement said: “During the periods that we were present at the site, the subjectively dominant noise source was road traffic noise from Elm High Road.”
The jet wash bays and air/vac unit will be available for customer use between 7am and 11pm, with peak periods occurring between 9am and 7pm. It was identified that there would only be a low impact on noise levels.
Following the noise survey being carried out, Quantum Acoustics said they “see no reason why planning permission should not be granted.”
