Sinkholes prompt police action on a Wisbech street

Part of a town street has been closed off by police this morning.

The action was taken in West Street, Wisbech, with its junction with Elm Road, and follows the opening of two sinkholes.

Posting images of the holes on their Facebook page Fenland police said: “Two sinkholes have up at the location and we are looking into it (sorry it’s a classic.”

They added highways have been asked to attend to make the area safe.
