Six more people die at King's Lynn hospital from coronavirus

For a second day running, Lynn's Queen Elizabeth Hospital has said that six patients who had tested positive for the Covid-19 virus have died in their care.

The tragic announcement came late this afternoon in the now customary tweet from managers at the hospital.

It takes the total of people known to have died at the QEH since the coronavirus pandemic began to 30.

Caroline Shaw, chief executive of the QEH, said: “A further six patients, two men in their 70s, a woman in her 80s and a woman and two men in their 90s, who had tested as positive for COVID-19 have died while being cared for at our hospital.

"Our thoughts are with their families and loved ones.”

The national total of deaths for today was reported to be 887. The total number of deaths in Norfolk since the pandemic began is today reported to have reached 87.
