Gallery: Sixty-six tractors hit Fenland roads for festive run in aid of charity
"Astounding" - that's the verdict from one of the main organisers of a festive charity tractor run through the Fens.
Sixty-six tractors, all decorated with fairy lights took part in the Fenland Farmers' Group Festive Tractor run on Sunday (19) afternoon.
Setting out from Benwick the convoy travelled to Doddington and then on to Wimblington where they parked up at the Parkfield Playing Field for around three hours to give people a chance to see the tractors up close.
There was also a chance to meet and greet Father Christmas as he too was part of the convoy.
The event, which is the second fundraising tractor run organised by Fenland Farmers this year, was in aid of two good causes.
The first was raising cash for Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital, the other was a gift collection for the children, who will be spending Christmas on the Holly Ward at Hinchingbrooke Hospital in Huntingdon.
It is hoped the collection will surpass that in May when the first tractor run raised £2,000 for Magpas.
Steve Neugebauer, one of the organisers described the evening as "astounding" and said they were amazed by the support and the number of people who turned up at Parkfield to see the tractors and Father Christmas.
Steve added: "We have been donated so many gifts we were contemplating getting a bigger van, than my small Vauxhall, to transport them to the hospital."
