March Slimming World members raise £3,380 for Cancer Research in memory of company founder Margaret Miles-Bramwell

A Slimming World group has raised funds for a cancer charity following the loss of its founder.

Around 250 members of the March group got to work collecting bags of clothes that they had outgrown, equating to £3,380 for Cancer Research UK.

It comes after the company’s founder, Margaret Miles-Bramwell, died from the disease back in February.

This was a charity close to Margaret's heart as well as many members of the group, including March consultant Jamie Holland, who was diagnosed with stage three bowel cancer in February last year.

Jamie said: “With cancer, everyone has been touched by it in some shape or form.

“This is something very close to my heart.

“It is amazing to think that you are giving something back that hopefully you will never need yourself.

“It is just an illness that you never know. It is really important to give to a charity that is so close to everybody's heart.”
