First look inside The Acre pub in March after £75K facelift

A March pub has reopened with a bright new look and its owners Greene King Brewery have offered a sneak peek following the £75,000 make-over.

The renovated pub will now be operated by independent landlords Chelsea and Mishah.

The Acre, located near the library in West End Park has had a full makeover inside and out thanks to the £75,000 investment.

Inside, the new-look pub features interior design and bespoke artwork paying homage to Greene King’s newest range of craft beers, Hazy Day – a fruity and hazy IPA and Prior Life – a refreshing, lower ABV IPA.

This new design gives the pub a trendy, modern feel while aiming to maintain a true traditional pub experience.

Outside, the pub has a new covered area providing shade and comfortable seating in the summer sun, as well as allowing the outdoor space to be used all year round.

Along with its makeover, the pub will also offer a new food menu based on artisan pizza and soul food, including ‘Soul Bowls’.

This food pairs perfectly with the modern Greene King craft beers which will be on rotation at The Acre.

It will also serve a cocktail range that is all handmade and prepared in-house at the pub, resulting in a quality cocktail experience for pubgoers.

Chelsea and Mishash said: We are over the moon to become landlords of The Acre. Our aim with the pub is to make it a bit more unique and different to other pubs in the local area.

“While we are still a traditional ‘proper’ pub – our craft beers, unique interior, artisan pizza, and cocktails are an exciting addition to March.

Thanks to the £75,000 investment, the pub is looking better than ever and our collaboration with the Greene King Brewery means we have a really cool and unique look – no other pub in the UK has that and we really are one of a kind.

Lee Jarvis, business development manager for Greene King Pub Partners, said: “Our £75,000 investment has upgraded The Acre into a modern and exciting pub perfect for drinks and great food. The pub is still a traditional local at heart but it now provides a unique experience for the pubgoers of March.”
