Sporting chance for the girls

Trampoline sessions for women are offered by Get Active
Trampoline sessions for women are offered by Get Active

Active Fenland are running female only sessions, aiming at getting women and girls aged 14-plus more active.

The sessions are tasters of a sport or physical activity – normally around four-six weeks – giving ladies a chance to try something new at an affordable price.

Once the sessions have finished we are trying to encourage the participants to carry on the activity through the local clubs, or we will try to continue to run sessions that have proven to be popular.

Trampolining at the New Vision Fitness the Hudson Centre in Wisbech has been the first session to run and has proven to be extremely popular.

We filled all spaces very quickly and have gone on to run a further four weeks with the same success.

The ladies taking part in the sessions seem to be really enjoying themselves and growing in confidence to try new moves each week.

Kickboxing is going to be our next Active Fenland Female Session and is being run at both New Vision Fitness the Hudson Centre and the Manor Centre in Whittlesey.

Both sessions are being run by the existing kickboxing clubs at each centre.

Both clubs are eager to engage with more women and are looking forward to partnering with Active Fenland to deliver these sessions.

Sessions cost £12 for six weeks. New Vision Fitness The Manor starts on Tuesday, March 22, from 8pm-9pm and The Hudson starts on Thursday, March 24, from 6pm-7pm.

To book in to either session call 01354 622399 or pop in to your chosen centre.

Netball is coming soon, with the hope for sessions to be in all four market towns of Fenland.

Bookings are already being taken at New Vision Fitness the Hudson; sessions are due to start on Tuesday, May 3.

If you or your club would like to partner with Active Fenland to help deliver sessions please contact us. We are always keen for new activities and new people to work with.
