Star selfie for March cadet

A March air cadet snapped a selfie with television presenter Carol Vorderman.

Cpl Joe Goodman from 1220 (March) Air Cadets asked the former Countdown star for a picture while attending the Air Cadet National Band championships at RAF Halton.

Carol is the new ambassador for the RAF Air Cadets and she becomes the first female honorary Group Captain Ambassador to the organisation.

She later tweeted a message and a picture to the cadets. The tweet said: “Air Cadets like selfies too.... Hello @1206SqnATC and @1220AirCadets x”

Cpl Goodman said: “Everyone at our squadron knows that I love to take selfies, so I thought what better opportunity than to ask for one with our new Group Captain, and on her first official Air Cadet engagement. I did not expect it to be tweeted to over 300,000 people! It was an honour to meet her, and we hope that she may visit 1220 Squadron in her time with Air Cadets, as she was a student in Cambridge.”
