Such a purr-fect day for annual championship cat show in Tydd St Giles
More than 60 felines fluffed their tales, purred and strutted their stuff at the annual Championship Cat Show for Exotic Short Hairs.
Held in Tydd St Giles this was the event’s 17th year and as usual attracted cats and their owners from across the UK.
Barbara McEwen, of Cottage Cattery, who organised the day was pleased with the turn saying it had attracted a good crowd.
She said: “It was a fantastic day with a lovely atmosphere. We had 61 entrants, which was a bit down on last year, but there was a good crowd of visitors throughout the day.”
People came from as far as Yorkshire, Kent and London.
There were three categories: Persians, exotic short hair and household pets.
Winners were: overall Persian Simcris Man On A Mission shown by Paula Sharp from Lincolnshire. The overall exotic was Naboo Naughtybutnice shown by Steve Hannington and Paul Hardie of London.
The best of the best of the pedigree winner was Naboo.
Best non pedigree household pet was silver tabby Martha’s Shades of Grey owned by Mrs Dolling of Desborough, Northamptonshire.
The best pedigree pet was Sodapop, a ragdoll, shown by Jenny Newton of Holbeach Drove.
Next year’s show is on January 11, 2020 at the Tydd St Giles Community Centre.
