Burger chain Wendy’s is set to open in Wisbech’s Horsefair tomorrow
A popular American burger chain will be officially opening its doors to the public tomorrow.
Wendy’s in Wisbech will be the second restaurant that the franchise, Blank Table, has opened up within East Anglia, with plans to open 17 in total across this area by 2027, creating between 1,000 and 1,500 new jobs.
Doors will be open from 7am on Thursday, with Wendy’s giving away exclusive ‘We Love Wisbech’ T-shirts to the first 50 customers.
Blank Table decided to open the Wendy’s in the Horsefair so it is easily accessible to local people.
Carl Morris, Blank Table director, said: “We as a business want to give something back to the community, and as we grow in Wisbech we will be helping in the community.”
Wendy’s has a team of 40 staff who trained from Monday to Friday last week, practising making the food and getting used to the way the business runs.
More than 300 meals made during that time were given to homeless people in Wisbech through The Ferry Project.
Wendy’s is located at Unit 2B, where the old Burger King used to be. It will be open seven days a week, 7am-10pm Monday-Saturday and Sundays 8am-10pm, and it will be offering delivery service from June for central locations to start with, and later expanding delivery to wider areas.
Breakfast will be available from 7am till 10.30am, after which point they will serve the lunch and evening menu.
A full Wendy’s-style breakfast menu is also available from 7am (8am on Sundays) till 10.30 am, offering early-door delights such as the breakfast baconator, croissant sandwiches and the classic egg and cheese sandwich with optional bacon or sausage, plus a range of coffee options including flat whites, cappuccinos and lattes.
The new restaurant will provide the signature Wendy’s items across breakfast, lunch and dinner, with all items freshly prepared.
