Wisbech takeaway delivery driver was over the alcohol limit

Police in Wisbech stopped a takeaway delivery driver who was over the drink-drive limit last night.

After a member of the public raised concerns that the driver was drunk, officers used CCTV to spot them leaving Wisbech town centre, and they were intercepted by the Neighbourhood Policing Team on North Street.

The driver failed a roadside breath test by blowing 86, the legal limit being 35.

They were taken to the Police Investigation Centre in King’s Lynn and will now face a court hearing and an automatic driving ban.
