The Wisbech Society continues its winter lecture season tomorrow with a talk about a former Wisbech doctor.

Dr Horace Dimock – His Life and Death, is the sad tale of the 20th century practitioner and will be told by Society trustee and retired local GP Dr Eric Somerville.

The talk will take place at the Dwight Centre, Wisbech Grammar School, from 7.30pm and will describe how Dr Dimock’s efforts became internationally renowned in 1913, and refer to his low paid and poor patients.

Far-reaching consequences followed his sudden, unexpected death, as Dr Somerville will reveal.

Admission is free for Society members and under-18s, and £3 for non-members.
