Posting on their Facebook page Policing Fenland outlined just some of the things their officers had to deal with on Saturday and Sunday in our district.

They said: “It was a busy weekend for your response teams working across Fenland, responding to your calls such as: violence, suspected burglaries in progress, concerns for people in Wisbech and March, a stolen vehicle in Whittlesey, domestics, a drink driver in Wisbech who blew 104 – the limit is 35 – at the roadside, he’s due in court next month. “When we weren’t responding to your calls, we took advantage of the fine weather this weekend and spent some time in March town centre, talking to those we saw about their concerns. It was lovely to meet you all and thanks for stopping to chat.”

On Thursday a joint effort saw the Neighbourhood Support Team, local neighbourhood officers and detectives out on patrol in Wisbech in response to concerns around drug dealing.

Three teenagers, aged 15, 16 and 19 were arrested in the area of Churchill Road and were taken into custody on suspicion of drug dealing offences. The 16-year-old was also arrested on suspicion of being in possession of a knife in a public place.
