Tesco delivers for Wisbech-based charity
Two local Tesco stores have teamed up to help a charity which aims to provide hot meals to those in need.
Feed Fenland, which operates in Wisbech, provides cooked meals to anyone who wants one Monday to Friday thanks to a group of volunteers.
It was set up in the summer by Kristi Dowker and her partner George Broughton with the support of their families and now has a a number of supporters who help with the charitable venture.
The group are always appealing for sponsorship to help them keep providing the meals and on Thursday they were delighted to receive over £300 worth of staples including rice, pasta and stock cubes thanks to Tesco Extra in Cromwell Road and Tesco One Stop in Walsoken.
Chris Ashworth manager of Walsoken store and Julie Bushby, community champion at the main store, went along to hand over the food.
They are now planning to join the volunteers to help serve some of the food in the near future.
