This achievement highlights the trust’s commitment to excellence and its strategic vision for continuous improvement through the delivery of an exciting relevant curriculum.

“Our first year with Burrowmoor Primary Academy has been incredibly rewarding,” said Ruth Bailey, headteacher. “We are proud of the progress we have made in enhancing educational outcomes and creating a supportive environment for our students. This success is due to the hard work and dedication of our exceptional staff.”

The staff at Burrowmoor form a cohesive team focused on maintaining and furthering the school’s upward trajectory, ensuring that every student receives a high-quality education and the support they need.

One child from the school council spoke about the changes and said: “We come to school now and know we are going to learn, it’s exciting to come to school – the teachers listen to us. Behaviour is better now and we love earning diamond stickers.”

A Year 6 pupil added: “We are so lucky, we have been in the forest school, out on trips and we are play leaders which means we can play with the younger children at lunchtimes.”

In addition to academic improvements, Burrowmoor has introduced an exciting Forest School program. From Nursery to Year 6, every child has had the chance to learn outdoors, fostering a connection with nature. A night vision camera has allowed students to observe local wildlife, including roe deer, foxes, and squirrels, visiting the forest when the children are not around.
