Walsoken couple praise the power of Facebook after missing dog found
Although we do not use Facebook, nor completely trust it, we had every reason to thank this media so much when we lost a small Spanish Galgo (greyhound) we were looking after.
She had only been in the country for a couple of days when she made a break for freedom from the back of our car.
Barbara, from the Wisbech Galgo and Podenco Rescue, put this out on Facebook and, within minutes, an army of dog lovers, and also some other very kind people, started calling in with sightings of her.
After around 27 hours of freedom – the only casualty being a rabbit she was seen killing and eating – she was finally cornered.
She was caught around Newton water tower and, after a trip to the vet, she was given a clean bill of health.
All we can say is many, many thanks to everyone concerned with her recovery.
