Thousands enjoy traditional festive fun at Wisbech Christmas Fayre
From train rides to Father Christmas himself the Wisbech Christmas Fayre on Sunday had something for everyone and attracted thousands despite the bitterly cold weather.
The event also included a host of stalls selling perfect Christmas gifts as well as festive food and drink and there were also charity stalls there too.
There was a host of free attractions, including The Winter Fairy, a miniature steam train, and real reindeer, all made possible thanks to kind sponsorship from UPP broadband, Wisbech Town Council and the Horsefair Shopping Centre.
The fayre, which is organised by Fenland District Council in partnership with the Wisbech volunteer committee, will was officially opened by the Mayor of Wisbech, Councillor Susan Wallwork.
A packed line-up of entertainment included performances in the Market Place and Wisbech Castle Gardens from the amazing Nine Lives Theatre Company and talented youngsters at St Peter’s Junior School, Orchards Church of England Academy and Wisbech Grammar School.
There was also an indoor craft fayre at Wisbech Library, with craft activities, family escape puzzles and refreshments, there was even a chance to weave your own willow Christmas decorations at Wisbech Eco Hub and Heritage Centre in York Row.
Wisbech and Fenland Museum offered visitors a Victorian Christmas experience complete with pop-up Dickensian photo booth.
