The business has been owned by the Patel family since 2000 and was recently brought to market to allow the parents to retire.

Following a confidential sales process with Christie & Co, it has been purchased by experienced London operator, Ravi Patel of Lordchem Ltd.

Mina Patel, former owner of Fairbrother Pharmacy, said: "It was a pleasure to serve all our loyal customers at Fairbrother Pharmacy which had been in our family for over 20 years.”

Mark Page, director–medical at Christie & Co, who handled the sale, added: “This exceptional pharmacy sits in the top five per cent in terms of volume in the UK and is a credit to the Patel family’s hard work and commitment. The market continues to recognise and respond to quality pharmacies, and we are seeing record numbers of enquiries.”

Alena Ray, associate director at Christie Finance, who sourced funding for the buyer, said: “It was a great experience working with Ravi to complete the transaction in a matter of four months which is exceptional for a pharmacy transaction that was far from straightforward. I have no doubt Ravi and the team will take the business to the next level with their business acumen and wish them all the success for the future. I secured multiple offers from lenders ensuring they got the most competitive funding package and worked alongside the legal and banking team to ensure a swift completion.”

Fairbrother Pharmacy was sold for an undisclosed price.
