Wisbech town centre closed to traffic due to repair work




Wisbech Town Centre has been closed to traffic for up to five days while urgent action is taken to a derelict building.

Fenland District Council will be undertaking additional work at 11-12 High Street after surveys revealed that part of its structure had deteriorated and now requires more localised demolition. This started today (Monday, September 23)

In July, contractors working on behalf of Fenland District Council partially demolished 11-12 High Street after investigations revealed that two walls behind the main fa├žade were structurally unsafe and at risk of collapse.
