Training centre set to host jobs fair, well-being and careers events in Chatteris
An education centre is hosting two events tomorrow to give people living in the Chatteris area a chance to learn about job opportunities, course options and their well-being.
The North Cambridgeshire Training Centre (NCTC) in Chatteris, part of West Suffolk College and Eastern Education Group, which was given an ‘outstanding’ Ofsted grade in all areas last December, is opening its doors.
The first event is a jobs and wellbeing fair that starts at 10am and finishes at midday.
Working in partnership with the Ely Jobcentre, 15 employers are set to attend who will champion existing employment opportunities in the local area.
There will also be a focus on careers, finance, health, wellbeing and volunteering.
Then in the evening between 4.30 and 6.30pm at the same NCTC location, the centre will be putting on an adult education and careers advice event.
Staff will be on hand to discuss the vast range of courses at the centre that has already supported hundreds of people since opening in 2023.
NCTC centre manager Louise Unwin said: “Whether you want to enhance your skills for work, step back into education to fulfil your aspirations, start a new hobby or improve your wellbeing, we have something for you in Chatteris.
“We are incredibly proud about the support we offer the local community and these events are a chance for people to come along to a relaxed environment and look at ways they can boost their life skills, wellbeing or employability.”
