Annual Christmas Tree Festival sparkling success for Fenland church

There was tinsel and twinkling lights galore as one Fenland church held its hugely popular Christmas Tree Festival at the weekend.

St Augustine’s in Wisbech was filled with more than 50 trees all lit up for the three-day event.

It also included the ever-popular sewing tombola, Christmas craft stalls, competitions, and live music from Wisbech’s own Roy McManus.

Younger visitors had the job of trying to find the hidden Santa and the whole thing was free for all to enjoy.

Among the visitors was Bharat Khetani, High Sheriff of Cambridgeshire and his wife.

Trees were decorated by local groups, clubs, and schools and even the church’s pillars were suitably adorned with lights, pictures, and tinsel.
