Fenland pet owners have a chance to celebrate their furry friends
Time is running our for your furry - or not-so-furry - friends to give you a chance of winning some exciting prizes.
The cat is out of the bag and you only have until 9pm on Wednesday, June 30 to submit your entries for our four special categories in the Pet of the Year 2021 competition.
Whether you have an adorable Airedale terrier, a beautiful Bengal cat or a tremendous tortoise, they can all be entered into the running.
Our four categories have been designed in order to give as many proud pet owners as possible the chance to showcase their amazing animals.
They are;
- Class 1 – Best Dog or Puppy;
- Class 2 – Best Cat or Kitten;
- Class 3 – Best Other Animal;
- Class 4 – Cutest Photo.
So far, your entries have blown us away and we love seeing your much loved pets - but there is one category which needs a little extra boost.
We want to see your entries for Class 3 – Best Other Animal, which includes any animal which isn’t either a cat or dog.
You might want to show us your family’s favourite ferret or perhaps you have created a lovely home for a happy hamster.
Of course, there’s plenty of room for more exotic species too.
Don’t be shy, show us your magnificent bearded dragons, surprise us with your slithery corn snakes and impress us with your great geckos.
First, second and third place in each category will be award rosettes, with first place winning a prize. The winner of each class will then be put forward for Best in Show, for us to find the overall winner.
To enter, email a picture of your pet to jeremy.ransome@iliffepublishing.co.uk with your name, address and contact number, along with your pet’s name and the class you are entering. Please state ‘Pet of the Year’ as the subject line.
The closing date for entries is Wednesday, June, 30, 2021.
Entries will appear in the Fenland Citizen on Wednesday July 7, 2021.
