Unique pre-Christmas art-for-sale exhibition at Wisbech Museum

The Secret Little Art Show opens to the public at Wisbech and Fenland Museum from Wednesday showcasing more than three hundred original mini works of art.

Amateur and professional artists responded with imagination and generosity when the Museum invited them to donate an unsigned original piece the exact size of a postcard (A6) for its pre-Christmas exhibition.

Organiser Louise Haselgrove said, ‘We have been so grateful for the generosity and goodwill shown to the Museum through this activity.

"With over 300 donated artworks for sale, the exhibition looks set to make a significant contribution to our ongoing fundraising campaign to keep the Museum open.”

The original prints, photographs, paintings, and drawings both quirky and beautiful on show will certainly appeal to Christmas shoppers and art-lovers alike at a standard asking price of £10 each.

The twist is that while the names of all contributing artists will be announced before the show opens, purchasers won't know until after they've paid who made the original artwork they’ve chosen.

The money generated will go directly to the Museum's ongoing fundraising effort for running costs.

The show will be up for viewing throughout Museum opening hours, 10 to 4 Wednesday to Saturday from now until December 16, including throughout Wisbech Christmas Fayre, on Sunday, December 10.
