Up close and personal with alpacas in Gorefield
People had the chance to get up close and personal with some fluffy friends at a farm in Gorefield at the weekend.
Bleak House Farm, an alpacas breeding farm, opened its doors as part of the British Alpacas Society's open farm weekend.
Owner Krystal Humphrey explained the two-day event was hugely successful attracting around 1,200 people. Visitors had a chance to pet and feed the alpacas and learn more about the animals.
The weekend also included tractors, craft stalls and demonstrations, including one showing the spinning of alpaca fleece into yarn for knitting and crochet.
This was the second time the farm, which has had alpacas for the past five years, has taken part in the free national event and Krystal said they would definitely be doing it again next year.
She said: "The weekend was an absolutely fantastic success. Everyone, especially the children seemed to enjoy meeting the alpacas, and finding out more about them and also what we do.
"We are a primarily breeding farm but we also sell their fleeces and take them out to organised events including weddings and care homes."
