Driver arrested following Wisbech road incident

A lorry driver has been arrested following an incident on the Horsefair roundabout in Wisbech earlier today (Friday).

A police spokesperson said: "We were called at 11.48am today (10 March) with reports of a pedestrian struck by a lorry on Horsefair, Wisbech.

"Emergency services attended – details of the pedestrian’s injuries are not clear.

"The driver of the lorry, a man in his 50s from West Yorkshire, has been arrested on suspicion of assault GBH and remains in custody at this time.

"The road was closed but has since reopened."
