Man in 20s arrested on suspicion of drug driving after crash between car and van on A47 between West Walton and Wisbech




A van driver has been arrested on suspicion of drug driving after being involved in a crash with a car - resulting in injuries to passengers.

The crash took place at 4.20pm yesterday on the A47 between the West Walton roundabout and Elme Hall roundabout in Wisbech.

A Ford Transit collided with a black Vauxhall Zafira.

Emergency services attended the scene including police and Cambridgeshire Fire & Rescue.

The passengers of the Vauxhall Zafira suffered minor injuries.

The driver of the Ford Transit, a man in his 20s, was arrested on suspicion of drug driving and was taken to King’s Lynn’s Police Investigation Centre for questioning.

He was later released under investigation.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or anyone who may have any relevant dashcam footage.

They are particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the manner of driving of the Ford Transit prior to the collision.
